A Dogwood update in less than a month! Whoo!

Dogwood Blossoms, Chapter 2, p.13-16

Stats: Patterns used variously from:
Squidfingers, Inspyretash-stock, and H-Longwood. The background birds were colorized from brush packs from Darkgarden. Tsukiko's calligraphy is random, pretty kanji nouns from Darkgarden's Far Eastern Brush Pack. Aging textures I cobbled from all over. Tsukiko's patterns I made myself in photoshop and illustrator.

Beautiful. Still, bring in the right eye on all pictures. I think you need to cross them.

I love Tsuki's face in the panel where she says "Our father is a very proud and reserved man..."

And the rest of this, of course. ^_^

Thanks for updating so quickly! It was a great surprise to see the update notification in my inbox. Keep up the brilliant work! ^_^

Lovely!! The screens in the background are so soft & pretty...a wonderful feminine touch. And I KNEW you would come up with something awesome for Tsukiko's kimono...she's stunning.

The story is so compelling...I can't wait to see what happens next with Sesshoumaru & Suzu. :-)

Hee, the smirk drawn in that "Very dignified" speech bubble certainly made me smile. XD

I can't stop marveling at how pretty the clothing and the background are. The detail! You even put so much detail into Tsuki's writing. Wow.

XD Thanks!

Aw, well, I didn't bother making Tsuki's writing actually make SENSE. ;]

Girl, you are just REMARKABLE. This is genuinely one of the most beautiful works of Inuyasha appreciation I have ever seen - your enthusiasm and dedication staggers me. You've really done your research, haven't you! There was so much imagination in this segment! From the angles [especially the overhead shot in the first panel] to the clothing to the characterisation [which we're really getting a feel for now], it's just plain wonderful. I got a real sense of at-home-ness from this one - y'know, being with the family, and they really do feel like one. [Who's the boy-child, by the way? Tsukiko's son?]

The one thing I would request is the small insertion of a list of the characters names . . . I've forgotten the younger daughter's already!XD [which sucks, because I realise now that OMG I luv her! =D Koinu-chan! She reminds me of a young Inuyasha! Bet he was just as much of a handful . . .]

But it was the little details that really got me. The expressions especially, like the look on Rin's face when Koinu-chan suggests Sesshomaru pouncing on her XD or Tsukiko's carefully neutral expression when she admits to Suzu that she reminds the lord of their mother. [In the first panel of the last page, Tsukiko actually looks very much like Zhang Zhiyi!] Suzu's face is very expressive and that really does remind me of Rin, her hair, too, has that certain wildness about it that brings back images of that unruly little orphan. She's absolutely beautiful in the last panel, and her reaction to the thought of their lord is certainly very telling . . .

Are we gonna get some SuzuSessho interaction soon? Eeeeeeeeeeeee! *bounces eagerly*

Aw, thanks for the gush! ^/////^

The boy-child is Tsuki's son from her (failed) arranged marriage to a full inu-youkai. She's a widow now, and back at home.
I could, if people are interested, put together a OC character list, esp. with background info that does not fit in the narrative.
Younger daughter is Inuhana.

And I'm so glad Suzu is coming across as reminiscent of Rin, across different lives and drawing styles! :) Yay!

Suzu/Sess interaction next! I'm lettering it right now. XD

Forgive the gush XD it just came out spontaneously like some alien exploding out of my stomach . . . there was nothing I could do to stop it. XDDD

Oh that's a great idea! Please do! I wantsta see the rolecall/backstory list! Tsukiko's story sounds hella interesting!

=D She really is! There are little moments where you really can see Rin within Suzu - I mean she had the guts to appeal directly to the Taiyoukai when they first met, with that icky dragon-worm thing still steaming away there on the ground . . .

Whoo!! SesSuzu! BRING IT! \\(^o^)//

Encore, encore! Or keep going, keep going! Whichever you prefer!

Once again lovely patterns, but what really blew me away this time was the angles you chose for some of the panels! Really ambitious poses and "shots!" And the emotion...wow!

Can't wait to see where this goes!

Your comic is simply stunning and I SO look forward to seeing more. The art and the details are wonderful. My only complaint is Inuyasha's face... the jaw and the nose are too rough and square. It makes a kind of sense that Inuyasha's nose would look broken but given the other things that he heals easily from -- like Sesshomaru's hand through his abdomen -- it doesn't really make sense that his nose wouldn't have healed as well.

Thanks, Heather!

I'm simply trying to make my work more realistic and Inuyasha more Japanese looking, so I gave him a rough-and-ready face (though still handsome, I hope).

I knew I'd missed the coloured version of this post!

From the opening fish-eye 'camera angle' to the exquisite screens, to Inuhana's ('Koinu-chan'... hee!) undignified antics to Tsukiko's beautiful expression in the top panel of page 16... a winner all round!

A part of me wanted to see a string from Suzu's musical instrument go 'sproing' at Inuhana's arch suggestion of paternal pouncing, to match her 'eep!' expression, but I was more than satisfied the way it was drawn.

Excellent work!
